RePac: Where the New York Public Library's off-site books are store

and Columbia University's too.
Talk about proximity to Manhattan
No wonder it takes too long for research to proceed when truckers have to brave the circuitous route to I-95 and then drive on the unpredictable New Jersey Turnpike into unpredictable traffic in New York City.
What happens when an accident occurs? What happens when Mother Nature delivers her storms of hail, rain, sleet, and snow. Even the best driver will encounter delays.
Who benefits monetarily by this arrangement.
And the cost of gasoline
and the cost of the outrageous tolls on The New Jersey Turnpike and the bridges and tunnels that must be used to bring the books to the "facilities," otherwise known as libraries, in Manhattan.
This plan was hatched in the 1990s and put into effect by 2000.

Far-sighted and near-sighted plans. Neither makes sense.
Why was Princeton chosen for two great New York City libraries?
